We choose to use agile project management for our Sitecore services team because it increases our efficiency and makes collaboration and communication with our clients really effective.
Offshoring done differently
We put a lot of work into adapting agile to work in our offshore environment. Our goal is that our clients will feel that we are a part of their team, sitting in the office next door, not halfway across the world
We are able to offer a highly customized approach to how we design our relationship with each individual client and the project management as a result. Initially we are very specific about requirements and expectations. Over time, as we build up our relationship, we can become more flexible and make changes along the way.
We believe that project management comes down to trust and we put a lot of time into building trust with our clients, particularly over the first few weeks and months of working with them.
We put a high value on collaboration and staying in touch with clients on a daily basis. There are several different ways in which we facilitate this. We utilize various collaboration software tools to keep us all on the same page at a task level. This gives clients daily access to where we are at in the project and allows us to easily share and comment on project deliverables.
We also use Kanban, a version of Agile project management. We have a Kanban wall where we use post-it notes to move tasks around during the life cycle of the project and more recently we started using a digital version of this called Trello.
